thing.

Although

she is neither

mine,

nor a thing.

I have loved

her

in bouts and

spurts,

with crashed

bicycles

and stolen

fruit,

for her entire

life,

and most of

mine.

We have been

apart,

not realising

the emptiness inside and

between us.

We have been

together,

luxuriating in

each others’

company, and

we

have been

everywhere

in between

navigating the messy

middle

as we constantly

reverberate

back to

this,

our centre,

this

bonded

source

of

deepest joy.
