because we are
the same,
and I live
for the getting
of my in-jokes
and BSG.

I love you
because you’re
nothing like
me:
big, and wild,
and dangerous,
with some
great lived
stories to tell.

I love you
because you
bring such great
and often
infuriating
perspective.
Are you even
human?
And how can
chocolate not
be a recognised and appreciated
primary food group?

I actually have
no idea how
to truly
love
you, as I
witness the
care and consideration
you apply
to this everyday
thing of ours…
Keeping me in
mind.

So I’m sticking
around,
much like a
barnacle,
to see where this
whale of a ride
takes
us…
Views for days
btw,
and the
water’s
been great.
