Four more
months
until my
birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As kids we
often
embrace
optimism, enthusiasm,
and the
glee of waiting
for great
things to
happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And then
somewhere in
the messy middle
we turn that
dial the other
way,
towards prudence,
caution,
sensibility,
not-sticking-your-neck-out-ness, and
selfpreservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No.
I\u2019m dialing that back.
I want a life
with an endless
conveyor belt
of happy surprises,
constantly being
anticipated and often rolling
in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And yes,
I will most certainly
fail at this,
sometimes:
much anticipated
events, opportunities
and people will
fizzle and disappoint,
yet in no way
steal the joy
landing,
and take my word for
it,
it mostly
