There is
a fire
inside
her.
Beyond the
exco notes,
and school drop-offs.
The sensible sandals,
and the
yogalates
stretches.

It finds
her. In the
wide open
spaces, she
seeks.
The dancing
flames,
licking, hinting
at
that life
less ordinary.

The wild, untamed.
The warrior,
that is her.

Embers left
for dead,
inside her
heart… Yearning
for the
stiring of
air. A twig
to snap, a brave
poker-holder to
make his way closer…

Yet still,
the fire burns…
Lapping at
the wetness of
her cheeks,
the bow of
her back. The
heaviness,
which can be
this one
very adulting, sensible
life…

Looking at her,
I hold
my
breath.
Ready for
the wind to
change, and the
flames to flare
up. For rise
they will, as we
all know so
very
well… This force
of nature
will never
quite
be
tamed.
