So the story
goes
that one can
avoid crying
while peeling
onions,
by biting into
a match,
and having
the flint end
hang out,
not unlike
Andy Cap.
Peeling humans
seems to be
a similarly
tricky pursuit,
although I’m
not quite sure
of
what one
should bite into…
For humans
and understanding
them,
and what you find
as you peel
back the layers,
can be super
tricky.
For we are
a truly flawed
species of equally
flawed individuals,
and most
of us,
prefer not to
loose face.
So what now?
Does one let
one’s own
guard down,
to stand there
truly naked,
warts and all,
for another,
of particular
significance to
consider?
And conversely,
how does one
consider the very much
human flaws
of that very
special person?
In my life
I strongly suspect
that the answer,
in one word, is:
courageously.
And in one sentence:
with grace, humility
and courage.
For life, I suspect,
is very much
one big outing to
a dog park…
Knowing full well,
that,
if it’s not your dog
being a nuisance
embarrassment at
this very moment, it’s
sure to be yours
humping someone’s leg
very inappropriately
in the next
ten minutes.
