happily
ever after.
Only, they
didn’t…
Because they
had bills to
pay, and children
to grow,
and laundry
to do, and
houses to
keep tidy.
And deadlines
to meet.
And suppers
to plan,
and cook.
And dishes
to do… so
many
dishes.
And somewhere
between
all of these
things. The
magic seeped
away… slowly at first.
A missed
kiss,
a cursory glance.
One
of them,
may even have
felt this
loss of heat, of tenderness,
and decided
to do… Nothing.
Or perhaps
there was no actual
decision. Just life,
the realness and
the grit.
Yet how
does one live
without magic,
and wonder? And
how does the
loveliness of
one special human
fade? These
are the questions that
I never
want to
know the answers
to, for you, my
tenderhearted
is whom
I seek to truly
know.
