I look

at
you
in wonder.
Mane of
glossy dark
hair. Wild, free
and yet,
also
polished
and well put
together.

A ready smile.
Yet it’s deep,
and knowing, and
it has been
to places and
seen things
that most humans
never will.

There’s compassion
in there too,
wrapped in your
gregarious nature.
And yet,
there’s also
a titanium-clad
spine, ruthless
determination.

Writing this
now, I realise
that I may have
just met
my very first,
real-life Paladin. A champion
of justice, virtue
and righteousness.

And that
energy, is
not to be
fucked with. For
its power crushes
those how
have been weighed,
and found to
be
too light.

Yet the
kindness
and generosity
of spirit
you’ve shown
me so consistently,
has
rooted my
life, back into my
own true source. And
for this,
the lake of
gratitude created,
will never
run
dry.
