I have found

that in my own
life,
the beauty is
very much in
the grey.
I’ve always had
a chip on my
shoulder
about black or
white thinking,
those two extremes being
far too narrow (minded?)
and small for
me to fit into.
Expansion lives
in the grey,
the subtleties of
the tonality of the
colour opening
up to endless
opportunity,
and growth,
and conversely,
comfort.
Grey melange is
probably the
most comfortable
clothing colour
ever invented.
Its softness feeling
almost like
pudding on
the skin.
Looking outside
today, the weather
is grey and
wet, and
I crave the comfort
of fire,
good conversation
and the close
proximity of a
good human.
I also long for
a crazy fast run,
and my breath
burning my
throat, and
legs to slow and
heavy to move.
These are the
opposites
that live in the
grey.
That luxurious
place where
I come to languish,
expand,
find myself,
and others.

Do you have grey
in your own life?
And do you try to
avoid it?
Or are you
languishing
there, expanding
into the gloriousness
on offer?

So yes, I am
wondering…
