shiny
for the world
to see.
A mensch
to be
appreciated,
admired,
and by
a lucky few,
loved.

Trophies enough
there aren’t,
to commend
your character,
gentle nature,
hidden behind
bluster, of course,
and tenacity.

I’m often
surprised by
your deep
determination.
Your dogged
can do, and your
zest in doing
so, in
pushing
through.

There’s much, I
wish to
learn
from you.
To grasp the
gift, of
your coaching,
your keen
eye,
your subtle
nudging.

You expect
much, of me, in
the applying
of myself. And
under
this scrutiny
I
flourish,
mostly, for
your gift is
in the sharing,
and for that
I am both grateful
and
humbled, as
you interweave
